Cancellation and insurance

Di Gilbert is aware that sometimes things happen out with your control which might result in you having to cancel your course.

Di is normally very understanding in these circumstances and will try to reschedule dates if she can.

If you decide to cancel your course within 31 days of the course commencement without wishing to reschedule, no refund will be payable.

In the unlikely event that Di Gilbert has to cancel a course due to be bad luck fairies, an alternative option will be offered or a full refund will be given to any monies paid.

The course fee does not include insurance against cancellation or personal injury and we would strongly recommend that you take our personal accident and cancellation insurance.

Your personal safety is of primary interest to Di Gilbert (including anyone working for her). However, all clients should be aware that all mountaineering activities will contain an element of risk and although we can manage them to an acceptable level, we will not be able to totally eliminate them.

Di Gilbert cannot influence the weather or conditions and it may be necessary to change planned routes or courses at the last minute.

It is important that all clients disclose any medical information before the start of your course which could have an impact on your safety, or the groups safety, in potentially a remote and hazardous environment.

Please ensure that you are physically, and mentally, prepared for your course and if in any doubt, please contact us to discuss your concerns.

All equipment provided by Di Gilbert Mountaineering is to the highest standard and if you require to use any of our equipment, please let us know at time of booking. You may prefer to use your own equipment and as long as it isn’t falling apart and is is good working order, that will be completely acceptable.
